Intrastromal Pockets

The FEMTO models create smooth corneal intrastromal pockets for inlays. The femtosecond laser additionally allows for accurate pocket parameters, and thus enhances predictability of the outcome

Benefits at a glance

  • Pre-programmed trajectories for different inlays
  • Customization according to your patient’s needs
  • Centration for more predictability in the outcome
  • OCT visualization for more precise positioning (e.g. with pre-existing LASIK flaps)

Customization

  • The depth and the pocket dimensions, as well as the entry incision size can be customized to best fit the patient’s surgery plan
  • For example the intrastromal pocket can be placed just below the Bowman’s membrane or much deeper in the cornea where there is less keratocyte activity

Centration

  • With the FEMTO LDV Z Models, the intrastromal pocket can be precisely centered on the monitor for more predictability in the outcome

Visualization after docking

  • The pocket incisions can be easily viewed and adjusted on the TopView image, even after docking
  • Additionally, the OCT system of the FEMTO Z8 allows to visualize previous flaps and to accordingly adapt the pocket depth on the monitor if necessary
